HaChotam Publishing

Since the year 2000, I have had the privilege of serving on the board of directors of a Hebrew Christian publishing ministry in Israel founded and led by Master’s Mission missionaries, Eitan and Orit Kashtan. HaChotam Publishing ( www.hachotam.org) publishes translated and original Hebrew materials for children, youth , and adults for Jewish Christian households throughout Israel. In addition, HaChotam has written, produced, and released the first Christian children’s music in Hebrew since the last twenty-five years. One song in particular, For God So Loved The World, a song based on John 3:16, has become the anthem for the Christian church in Israel.

Currently, HaChotam is publishing three magazines quarterly. Me't Le't is the adult magazine, Masheu Aher is the youth magazine, and Yaldei Ya is the children’s magazine. Each contain articles emphasizing matters of doctrine and it’s implication to our practical living.

HaChotam Publishing has also translated a number of popular English Christian titles into Hebrew that have been a tremendous blessing to the believers in Israel. Some of these include: Dinosaurs of Eden by Ken Ham, The Lie by Ken Ham, I Really Want to Change, So Help Me God by James MacDonald, Plain and Simple: Understanding the Scriptures by Robert VanKampen, The Fourth Reich by Robert VanKampen, and Noah’s Ark by Ken Ham.
One original title has been published, Yeshua (Jesus), written and illustrated by Eitan and Orit Kashtan. This children’s book is based on the question Christ asked His disciples, “Who do people say that I am?”.Currently, about 900 households receive the quarterly magazines, which is the entire Jewish Christian population in Israel. This is a major reason why very little is published for the church in Israel in Hebrew, because there is a limited “market”.

The children’s CD contains 10 songs written by Orit and placed to music. There is a songbook for the children that accompanies the CD.
