Flight School!
Vacation Bible School 2008 at Little Snowbird Baptist Church

Isn’t it amazing how our bodies work! Psalm 139:13-15 declares,
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place."

Our bodies testify of the character and creative power of our great God and Lord.

Bodyworks! was the theme of the 2007 VBS at Little Snowbird Baptist Church … an adventure inside the human body.

The adventure began with the skeleton, the foundation to our bodies, just as Christ is the foundation to our faith. The eyes illustrate how mans looks on the outward appearance but God looks on the heart. The digestive system reminds us that the Word of God is our sustenance. Our ears help us remember that obedience is what pleases God, not merely hearing. And finally the heart must be guarded, for it is the wellspring of life.

Each evening was begun with the opening celebration in worship lead by our kids praise group followed by an introduction to the evening theme. The bulk of the evening was spent rotating to each of three stations: bible, game, and craft time. Each evening concluded with the closing celebration, a review of the lesson and memory verse, worship in song, and prayer.

Each year we average between 50 – 60 young people from the local Snowbird Community … and this year was no different. Of these kids, about half are from families within the church and the other half from families not attending LSBC. Most non-churched kids have attended for several years now and have been taught clearly the complete gospel of Christ.

Please pray for these children … that they would be reconciled to their Creator as they understand their sin. Furthermore, pray for their parents, that the faith of their children would be an instrument used to reveal the sinful condition of their own heart. And lastly, pray that we would help the parents at LSBC be fullyequipped to the task of leading their families in their walk with Christ.
